At PYP, Tech team buzzed with excitement as we celebrated National Coding Week in the Design and Tech Studio, where students across various levels dove into thrilling coding activities that sharpened their programming and AI skills. We were thrilled to announce that three student council members—Digital Citizenship Advocates Sarah Chaudhary from 5P, Shanaya Singh Mendiratta from 5S, Vardaan Singh Anand from 5Q engaged with PYP 1, 2, and 3 students. They used a PowerPoint presentation to show how artificial intelligence and coding are integrated into everyday life and utilized the following week’s circle time to share their insights.

Meanwhile, during their TEL classes PYP 1 student used Code.org to develop problem-solving skills, collaborate, and persevere through challenges, while KG students explored programming concepts through the Coding Safari app on iPads. Pre-Nursery students worked with digital puzzles to identify farm animals, and Nursery students used BEE Bots to form shapes like circles and squares. PYP 2 students practiced logic and sequencing through Code.org and BEE Bots, while PYP 3 students learned about AI for oceans and training data through coding activities. PYP 4 and PYP 5 students used Pictoblox.ai to explore computer vision and video sensing, working with loops, events, and instruction flow. In design classes, PYP 1 and PYP 2 students took part in a Bee Bot challenge to test their coding skills, and PYP 3, 4 and 5 students competed using Dash and Dot robots, the student who overcame the obstacles and achieved the fastest time was crowned the Tech Champ.
