Participating in the THSVKMUN as a representative of the Republic of India in the UNHRC committee was an eye-opening experience as it greatly impacted my understanding of global human rights issues, mainly focusing of the agenda of rape. Engaging in discussions surrounding critical topics like this, made me appreciate the urgency of advocating for justice and equality in the world we live in.  

One of the greatest learning experiences was the opportunity to meet and interact with delegates from diverse backgrounds and cultures bringing something different from every other person on the table. Each participant brought unique perspectives, which broadened my understanding of the complexities surrounding human rights issues.  

As the delegate of India, I focused on extensive research which revealed the importance of collective responsibility among government, communities, and educational institutions to create a safer environment for all. Additionally, I also gained insight into how different countries address similar issues.  

Through MUN, I developed skills such as effective communication negotiation, research skills, critical thinking skills and much more. Collaborating with other delegates taught me the importance of teamwork and how to be open-minded along with understanding the benefits of diverse viewpoints in fostering growth and crafting solutions.  

In conclusion, this experience shaped my understanding on various topics such as human rights and motivated me to advocate for those who may not have a voice. It gave me a platform to not only simulate diplomatic negotiations but also empower young leaders to engage with critical global issues. I am committed to using the skills I developed during this MUN to promote justice and equality in my community and beyond.
