Our first stop was Paris, and the ride to the hotel was enough to make the trip for us, considering the beauty of widespread greenery alongside the roads, but we knew there was more to it, like Disneyland! A visit to this park was one of our highlights for the trip to be watching the parade, getting on the scariest of rides, and of course, exploring Disney restaurants. (This one is for the foodies; I am one too!) The next day, we explored what we really loved Paris for, The Louvre Museum and The Eiffel Tower. Not only did we see The Mona Lisa painting, but we also saw great artworks from the renaissance and other periods in history, observing the colours, themes, and techniques changing over time. For the Eiffel, we were happily eating croissants on the second level of the tower, gathering the most we could of the breath-taking view of the city.

On our way to Brussels by road, we could not take our eyes off the windows, for the serene views of nature had us hooked, but most of all, we had a small karaoke in the bus to add fun to the journey, it really was one of the most memorable! In Brussels, it only made sense to step right onto the local streets and explore, which is how we came across a beautiful cathedral and local chocolate shops in line with the streets ahead, and I have to say, the chocolates and their waffles have my heart forever.

In Brussels, we fulfilled our most important reason for this trip, which was to visit the Euro Space Centre where we covered activities that astronauts train with to adjust to the settings and atmosphere of space. Not only did we learn the logic behind each form of training and how it helps, but it was also almost like we were astronauts, or at least we felt like them, with the most enjoyable ways to learn, practically. Additionally, we got to sleep on bunk beds with our friends which is more than the fun we could get, but it only got better as we worked on our internal group projects at the space centre in the lawns with the pleasant breeze and view of trees and model rockets, where we sat as authors and wrote about the centre itself. This experience of two days was the real highlight of the trip.

To celebrate the same, we made a quick impromptu visit to the Tintin Museum, where we uncovered secrets of our childhood comics and had fun with pictures standing alongside statues! On the day before our flight back home, we took the chance to explore the city of Brussels and learn its heritage, and we finally understood why buildings are so narrow there, I never thought of taxation being the reason!

Finally, when we reached home, we did not have time to sulk about the trip finishing, knowing we had too much to tell, knowing that we talked to new people from school and built bonds even if they may be temporary, and knowing that we created some of the best childhood memories that we could never forget.
