The Student Counselors conducted a 'Meet the Counselor' session for PYP 4 & 5. These sessions aimed to develop a classroom culture which has the prominent feature of 'Acceptance'. Visual provocation facilitated students' thinking skills to understand the types of diversity in a classroom which can easily be misinterpreted as difficulties. Verbal provocations led students to understand that each person is different from one another hence has a different set of skills, strengths, and areas of growth. They weaved a spider web with their inputs which enabled each learner to participate in the discussion by sharing their perspectives. This engagement supported them to enhance understanding of diversity in culture, learning and emotions. Learners reflected upon - Having acceptance as a part of classroom culture can provide a sense of belonging to each student.
