The Leadership Programmes are designed to develop various skills that shape thoughts, behaviours and emotions of upper primary students towards growth and development of self and others. In this term, Student Counsellors conducted Leadership Programme (Part I) for PYP 4 students on the Portrait of a Leader and Leadership qualities. Students delved deeper into understanding their skills, attributes and mapped it with that of a leader. This discussion led them to share the to extend their reflective and critical thinking skills. ‘Portrait of a leader in ME’ was an essential part of the Leadership Programme. This supported the learners to form an understanding that everyone can be a leader and have the right to nominate self for various leadership opportunities, one of them being the student council election. The discussions led to further inquiring into identifying leadership skills in their peers. The learning engagements provided an opportunity for learners to acknowledge the diversity in class and celebrate leadership qualities and attributes in self as well as in their peers.
