The year’s just started and we have already immersed into the series of inter house sports, thanks to our dedicated head and vice-head of sports; Divyaansh Gandi and Jayati Bhargava. On Monday the 5th of August the athletes of MYP 4&5 battled it out on the field at the boys inter house football competition. The tournament started with buzzing excitement from our students and athletes.

We started of with Air vs Fire going head-to-head for a spot in the finals. Within the first two minutes air house scored! Unfortunately, it turned out to be a foul. As the game progressed, there were several intense attempts to score that only lead to out of bound kicks, to the point that the ball even ended up in the bus area once. All players skillfully went on with the match the defense was quite high from both opponents. As half time started the score was 0:0 as the teams swapped sides of the field. Just as the match resumed Fire’s offense was off the charts as them came in strong with a goal and made the score 1:0. As the game continued air was giving their best as they dribbled and tackled, but unfortunately for them the match came to an end and FIRE WON!

As Fire and Air battled it out, just on the neighboring field were Water and Earth fiercely competing for a chance in the finals. Through out the match the players tackled and dribbled with immense skill and focus, both teams gave it their all only for none to score. As they dove into the last five minutes of the match, Earth ended strong and made a goal! And with that EARTH WON!

As both the matches commenced, Air and Water dueled each other for third place. Air started off strong as Vinayak from MYP 5 scored making the score 1:0. As the game unfolded, Air’s defense was to commend. As the match moved forward, the players passed, dribbled, tackled and what not. In the end, AIR WON THE MATCH AND TOOK THIRD PLACE!

It was the moment everybody was eagerly waiting for; the MYP 4&5 boys football interhouse finals. Fire vs Earth, going head-to-head. Both teams started off strong, Fire with outstanding defense. The match started with Earth missing one header but they still continued and made up for it with their impeccable striking. As half-time came the score was still 0:0. Both teams gave it their all as they fought for first place. As time was up, no teams had yet scored yeading to penalty kicks. In the penalty kicks, Fire scored twice and Earth thrice. And with that, EARTH HOUSE WON THE BOYS INTERHOUSE FOOTBALL.

Congratulations and a job well done to all the players. All of the athletes displayed marvelous skill worth commending, a healthy competitive spirit, a passion for football, and astounding sportsmanship. With that, the match commenced and all the students left with their spirits as high as ever. We students, truly enjoy these events hosted by our Head and vice-head of sports and can’t wait for the next interhouse taking place next week.
