In the recent inter-house house debate, the discourse was as fiery as it was fluid. The clash between Water and Fire transcended mere rhetoric, evolving into an exploration of leadership and governance. Both houses ferociously debated regarding the prospective presidency of the polarizing figure, Donald J. Trump. It began with Water house making a powerful claim on Trump’s presidency, mentioning he will “make America great again”. Fire refuted the claim by establishing an immaculate foundation which talked about the wrongdoings of the former president in his first term, including his anti-immigrant policies and his derogatory remarks. Water, on the other end, then addressed Trump’s important contributions to the economy and democratic transparency, faming him as the only president who has been completely transparent with the American people. On the other side, Fire defamed Trump’s transparency by explaining how his statements were racially motivated, stereotypical, and against immigrants to study in the country.
This brought a personal touch to the argument as many Pathwaysians dream of studying in the U.S. Water house’s final claim compared former 2024 presidential race runner Joe Biden against Trump, which was deemed invalid by the judge due to Trump’s competition being against Ms. Harris. Regardless of the fallacy, Water berated with poise, cadence, and inflection. Fire declared their statements by indicating how Trump’s presidency would be the end of the American dream and declared that Ms. Harris’s younger age would rather have a clear view of America’s future. In the end, despite their ability to woo the audience with aura, Water house faced an unfortunate defeat to the powerful Fire house, whose arguments were logical and true, according to the judge.
